Contract Manufacturing Executives Talk 2017 Tech Trends with Business Radio X

Battery Compression and 3D Printing Among Top Trends to Watch

According to Prime Technological Services

SUWANEE, GA. – Nov. 1, 2016 – As we head into 2017, six key technology trends are expected to grab business and consumer interest — battery compression, 3D printing, IoT, 5G, wearables and big data. That’s according to executives from Prime Technological Services (Prime), a contract manufacturer specializing in PCBAs and top-level box build.

On a recent CEO Exclusive Radio broadcast, Prime’s Greg Chesnutt, president and CEO, and Jerry Stern, VP of sales and marketing, had the opportunity to discuss trends every CEO must know.

Of technologies expected to drive change in 2017, battery compression stands at the top of the list. This includes increased battery life, greater mobility and more frequent decoupling of batteries from their power source.

Another evolving technology is 3D printing, which is shaping advancements in a number of fields. In healthcare, for instance, casts are being developed to mend broken ligaments that enable healing 40-80 percent faster. And scientists have even begun production of bionic ears that can hear radio frequencies.

“It’s a stunning time to participate in the global science and technology scene,” said Chesnutt. “And through the evolution of these technologies, Prime is positioned to keep our customers — from lighting and energy to healthcare and automotive — competitive by providing manufacturing capabilities that are as nimble and responsive as the technology strategies themselves.”
